If I were free today, and if you offered me a free lunch at McDonald’s, I have no doubt that I would refuse. I have no desire to eat there whatsoever.
And yet, as Autumn flows into winter, and the leaves fall from the trees, I have just seen the glowing golden arches of the McDonald’s ‘M’ shining through the branches, over the wall, and in through my cell window.
So, since I would refuse to go there even if you paid me, why am I so depressed at being able to see it but not able to reach it?
